Default Need Advice Hydro Gear BDU 10 transmission

I have a 2011 Cub Cadet GT2000. It is 20HP Kohler Shaft Drive Hydro-Gear BDU-10 Hydrostatic Transmission. 5.5 qts fluid 240 hours on machine. Tranny fluid (and filter)is changed every 50 hours with the made from GOLD Cub Cadet "Drive System Fluid Plus". Never had any other problems with the HYDRO. I have treated this machine with "kid gloves".
1 acre grass yard, winter leaves, less house, flower beds, and large driveway. 1 slight hill and no pulling anything by the tractor. I believe this is the same transmission used by the 2500 and 3000 Series Cub Cadet Garden Tractors. My problem: So I am cutting grass on a hot day recently and pulled up on the driveway to get a cool drink. The driveway is level and I cut the motor off (did not set parking brake) and get my cool drink. When I go back to the mower, I leaned slightly against the back of the mower and it rolled forward about a foot. Well I know it is not supposed to do that and so I pulled slightly on the mower and it would only move backwards about 2 inches and then stop. I pushed forward slightly again and it moved easily about 1 foot. I did not do that any more as I know that it may damage the transmission further. It has never done this before, always Hydro holds the machine in place.
1. The tractor works and pulls fine.
2. The fluid is full and no leaks.
3. The closest Cub Cadet Dealer (for the upgraded (Not Box Store) Cub Cadets is almost 60 miles away.
4. Would it hurt anything to finish grass cutting season before I take (if you think I need) for repairs.
5. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with the HYDRO?
6. I am a more than a little concerned as making repairs on this hydro could be very expensive.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Relax, nothing wrong. It just leaked down a little while sitting.

I would agree with Sam.

Changing the transmission filter and fluid every 50 hours seems excessive. I have the same trans on my GTX2100 and my manual states on page 18 to change every 200 hours.

I agree that it seems excessive to me also, however; my manual for the 2011 GT2000 does state a change of fluid and filter (for transmission) every 50 hours. Cost is better than $90.00 using Cub Cadet Fluid and filter.

Thanks for your reply. I will post any updates.

Check your hydro relief lever and make sure it is not pressing on the release valve. You may want to check the valve also.

It should have a release rod that you pull in order to move the tractor by hand. It is located at the rear of the tractor. Circled in red in this pic. This is on a 2550, location may vary slightly on your tractor.

Riverrat , go to the BDU site and you will see they recommend other oils , i.e. Mobil 1 etc , full synthetics may reduce your costs , also for most BDUs 100 hours appear to be the norm
Try this site , see page 6 re oil

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
