|  Remove key switch 1782 
			
			I am trying to get the key switch out of a 1782 CC diesel.  Looks like the same switch that's in the 82 series diesels.  I'd think the chrome cap would pop off and expose a nut but it doesn't seem to work that way and I don't want to bugger it up. 			Okay that did it.  I had tried that once but didn't try too hard.  It's off, thanks.

			Hi Mike, According to Partstree. the ignition switch in your 1782 is the same KB part number that is used in the 782D and 1572, of which, I've replaced both. The cap I assume you are referring to is the chrome cap on the "key-side" of the switch. When removing it, providing some previous owner did not put some other brand on it, I simply grabbed the backside of the switch with my hand to keep it from rotating and rotated/unscrewed the chrome ring off of the switch. If I remember correctly, it was your standard right-hand thread. To grab the chrome ring and NOT scratch up the pedestal or the chrome ring itself, I used a pair of channel-locks which had some cloth wrapped around each of the jaws to prevent scratching/marring of the parts. I do remember that when I replaced the switch on my 782D, it was quite stubborn as if water had gotten inside the chrome lock-nut. When you get the new one you can see then how it all fits together.

			I got it Frank, thanks.  I wasn't sure and I didn't want to tear anything up.  Looks like they're kind of pricey.

			don't buy from cub dealer,cost is about half as much to go to Kubota dealer.

			I am just removing the diesel switch to replace with a gasoline switch.
