Default Rim prices

I can get a pair of 8.5" John Deere Rims close to my house. They want $50 with turf tires (23x10.5x12), or $40 for just the rims. I've never bought rims before (other than the 6x12 ag tires and rims I got for $40), so I don't know if that price is fair or not. If it is an ok price, any problems I would have as far as offsets, etc? I don't know if there is a difference in the rims for JD tractors vs. Cub Cadets. I believe they were off of a 314.
Thanks,
Jason

Jason,

How bad do you want/need?? Look at what new turfs run, what are rims going for on flea-bay, how good of shape are the tires themselves in? If you're worried on offset, measure a cub wheel and take that and a tape along to go look. if it is that close a simple trip would be the key.

Default Rim prices

Jason,

If they are true JD rims you might want to look closely at the valve stem holes, there normally on the opposite side of a cub rim.

Good Luck,Bruce

Most JD rims I've seen are a weird offset. I'd look for CC rims if I were you.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
