Default old cubs

I found four old cubs two 182's,169 and a 129 they have been sitting in a old garage/barn for years. The motors turn freely and they seem to be in fairly decent shape minus all the dust and bird droppings. What motors did these have in them the one looks like a kohler but I'm not sure,do the first two numbers mean the horsepower they have. Finally are parts easy to get and what would they be worth,a friend of mine went there to clean up all the scrap metal laying around and he was told to take them with him the next time

I am not sure what a 182 is but snatch up the 129 and 169 for sure. They both should have kohlers 12hp in the 129 16hp in the 169. Unless someone has changed somthing.

The 182 is a Lawn Tractor. It had a 191707 B & S 8HP motor in it.

The 129 is a Garden Tractor - Hydro Drive, that came with a K-301 Kohler 12HP motor in it.

The 169 is a Garden Tractor - Hydro Drive, that came with a K-341 Kohler 16HP motor in it.

You should have no problem find any parts for these tractors, in either new or good used.

A 182 was a lawn tractor that was part of the 82 series that IH came out with in 1980. The 82 series lawn tractors were the 182, 282 and 382. These were carried over when Cub Cadet was sold to MTD in 1981.

Here's a flier that shows the 82 series, including the 182:

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
