Is there an 82 series tractor that uses a K series Kohler and an engine mounting plate without the rubber mounts?
I am thinking of mounting a K series engine in an 82 series tractor with attached generator on the front of the engine. |

Mike
Pretty sure the singles all had rubber mounts. KT's and the Mag twins are solid mounts on a plate.

I just got a 1050 that has a single cylinder 10hp in it and the rubber mounts are nothing like the ql tractors, they look like a much better design and they're only $1.32 each on parts tree. I wouldn't let the rubber mounts hold you back and if you want to it looks like the mounts could easily be replaced with flat washers to make it solid.

I have 2 cub 1210's. Single cylinder kohler and yes they have the rubber mounts. I think I like these better than the twin cylinder models, especially if you have to rebuild them.

Read the OP's post, he asked if there is an 82 series with a K that is solid mounted. He did not ask for opinions about rubber mounts. Damn I hate having to be such a PITA. Happy New Year Guys.

i assumed he asked the question because he doesnt want to deal with rubber mounts and i was just letting him know whats up, maybe i assumed wrong but either way i have a hard time seeing why you needed to get bent out of shape. of all the threads on here that get drug way off topic i dont see what the issue is in this thread.

The generator/welder mounted to the engine is extremely heavy with a lot of weight hanging out over the front of the engine. I suppose the extended length of the generator could also be rubber mounted but I didn't really want to fool with that or the unnecessary expense. Thanks. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
