Default 18hp vanguard on NF?

I was just curious to see if anyone has put an 18hp on a NF cub? Have a sweet running vanguard and would like to hear oppinions on the project, if its ever been done, or if its even feasable? Will the twin fit without modifying the hood?

It can be done but you will have to widen the frame to get it in, I'm not really sure what would need done to the hood to make it fit.

You will need to know from the base of block what the centerline of the crankshaft is as well.

Thanks guys, just kinda lookin into the future a ways I hope! My k301runs good but startin to smoke a little when i rev it a bit and when i am moving my trailer with a couple face cord on it. I have the original k241 that I may tear into and see how bad block is since rod broke. May see if i can rebuild that and put it back in until i get a chance to rebuild the k301. But if its not going to be too big of a PIA, I would like to run briggs mainly because i have tons of engine parts for the twins. Also when(if) i do the heart transplant I am going to buy new drive shaft from Jef

it'll fit with some work. that's a 16hp vanguard, I've been told it's the same block as the 18 hp model. it's going to cost a couple of $$$ to get it all done. let me know if you have anymore questions.

Yeah Homebuilt, that 122 has come a long way. Looks great and love the giant "147ish" frame reliefs. Neat too how you made the exhaust come out the grill quiet line style. If that hasn't been POTW it should be

thanks for the compliment's. I wasn't looking for praise, just showing john a little bit of what would be needed to get it wedged in there. sam, I'll look and see if I can find the numbers for the filter kit, unfortunately that's not cheap either.
