Default 102 New Price

My brother in law and I were trying to figure out how much my father in law paid for the 102 in the fall of 67. He had the 38" mower deck. The tractor has been in the family since 67, but we can't find the original bill of sale. Any idea of the price?

Thanks

The tractor was $845.00. I am guessing a deck would add a $100.00 back then.

And according to the Federal Department of Labor, Bureau of Statistics - that would be $6,751.88 in 2015 dollars.

If they were of the same quality I'm sure they'd sell a few.

Here is a copy of a bill for a 122 back in 1968 with some other attachments, wish it was itemized by price but you can get a idea what things were going for back then.

On the list I see something called a tractor trax attachment, what is that? I've been around cubs a long time and never heard of that.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
