Found a really nice 127 about a mile from my house. It looks mint and the owner says the carb was just rebuilt. He's asking $700 or best offer. It has a deck on it but again I didn't even look at the size. Lol. I'll prob check it out more tomorrow. Anything good or bad and what to look for on these? It's 1971. Thanks

Probably a good idea to move this to the "what's it worth" section. I will say that I refurbed a 127 and got about 650 for it. Can you post some pictures? Does it have any other options? Lights? Hyd lift? That would help in determining the value as well as condition. The 127 isn't on the rare list but still a great machine and many people have them.
If you do get it it's always a good idea to do the standard fluid and filter changes. Like any old cub there's probably going to be some sloppy steering and possibly a small hydro leak, dried out tires, but again, post some pics. You always have to remember these are 40 plus year old machines and will always need tinkering on, adjusting, etc. even though they look mint on the outside. I'm not a good person to give advice on this because I buy the worst of the worst roaches and bring them back from the dead. Look for engine smoke (both cold and hot) and read the charge gauge while running you can quickly assess those things as well, look in the gas tank and see if it's clean. The hydros are pretty much indestructible so not too much to worry about there. I see you have a 682 so you have some insight on how rugged these things are. The 127 is a little more challenging to work on drive train wise as there's no access through the tunnel, needs to be done underneath, but the 12 horse k301 that "should" be in it is a great engine as all k series are. Do some research on here as well to see under the hood, etc, to make sure all the parts that should be there are. Good luck and let us know

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
