Found a 1250 on CL that I would(will) buy if it has ported hydro. The owner isn't familiar so can't confirm. I know they had both ported and non-ported. Anybody know the odds if I make the long drive I'll find it to be ported? (i.e. What was the production ratio?)
Thanks. Jbo |

The 1250 rolled out of the Factory with a Non-Ported Hydro. Now.........someone could have made a change, but doubtful.

The Quietline series had a breakdown like this for the Hydrostatic tractors.
1250 - 12HP - Manual Lift 1450 - 14HP - Hydro Lift (optional dual circuit) 1650 - 16HP - Hydro Lift (optional dual circuit)

What if they sent you a pic? If you see a hydraulic lift handle, you know your golden. Manual lift, you can move on to the next one.

See if he will remove the tunnel and snap a pic of the driveshaft side of the pump.

That's a nice one, and rather rare in my personal opinion! A neighbor of mine has a friend who has a 1250 with hydro lift, though a single stick. I thought Rolland be correct in his statements. I guess the 1250 rolled off the line with the non-ported pump, where the optional ported pump and lift system were installed at a dealership? Or, in your case, did come from the factory dressed in the options your 1250 has.
I find this topic interesting as a matter of fact! ![]() |

My second post was a bit confusing.
![]() When rolling out of the Factory with standard equipment, this is what IH did: 1250 - Manual Lift 1450 - Hydraulic Lift 1650 - Hydraulic Lift The 1250 could have a single or dual circuit Hydraulic option installed. Either order it at the factory level or dealer installed. The 1450 & 1650 could have dual circuit Hydraulic option installed. Either order it at the factory level or dealer installed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
