The following parts will interchange:
Carb air cleaner flywheel shroud charging system shields around block coil spark plug wire spark plug cam governor-I wouldn't install a used plastic one....replace with a new gear-cheap insurance crankshaft bearings oil pan flywheel should be ok...not 100% sure on that one connecting rod-wouldn't put in a used one I think a 14 and 16 horse power crankshaft have different counter weights. 14 horse power crank in a 16 horse power block could have major shaking problems because of the difference in the counter weights....not 100% sure on that one. It would be cheaper in the long run to find a 14 horse power block. |

hey merk, thanks for the info! I looked at the service manual for the k series and the spec sheet stated that all the measurements they have for the crank shaft is identical for the 14 and 16, as well as for the fly wheel, i dont know if they state counterbalance info in the manual, but according to it they are identical.?.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
