After much searching, I picked up a sleeve hitch from a 782 to put on my 782. Got the swivel part, Frankenstein bolts and the straight bar. I'm totally stoked as it looks like it is almost unused.
OK, I have looked through this site over and over before getting the hitch, so I'm convinced I have all the right stuff, but for the life of me I don't see how the link bar attaches to the hydraulic lift. Here's a picture of my setup. Am I missing something? Can someone point me to a picture with the link arm connected? Thanks in advance, Mike ![]() ![]() |

It hooks up to the pin. No big deal. It shows how to do it in the service manual that you can download here.

I don't know nuthin about 782 or any other red series tractor but I do know there are manuals out in OCC archives.
Here's a manual for the 82 series: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=13226 If you look on page 4-10...... maybe you might be getting somewhere. Good Luck!

It is hard to see but it goes this way, there is a hole you have to line up in the frame to put in the pin.

Thank you Billy-O and Darkminion. You guys rock! I swear I went through that manual last night, but I sure missed the one drawing I needed.
Being as I do not know anyone locally, if not for the internet and this site, I wouldn't even have a Cub, let alone know how to make it work. I will sleep well tonight, now I know how to put this together. ----- Have to share this: I just showed my wife this thread. She said "that's not a picture of YOUR tractor, is it? It's DIRTY." I'm so embarrassed . . . |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
