Default DIY Narrow Frame Headlights

I recently sold an 782 and before I did I took the headlights off of it. It had one working bulb and the hold-downs I needed.

I then used a hole saw the cut some holes for the lights. After I drilled some holes for the mounting brackets I touched up the raw metal with some yellow enamel.

Patina is nice on tractors IMHO, so the beat up headlight decal doesn't bother me (at least not right now).

I bought 1 GE bulb on amazon for $12 and after assembling it all, I think it looks pretty good.

I never plan to sell this tractor so I didn't do this to add value or deceive, I just like the look of headlights on narrow frames, but don't like the cost of the OEM parts.

I think if one is to ad headlights to a NF this is the way to go. I dislike those light hacks that look terrible, hang off the side of the frame, and heaven forbid one drills holes into the front end to mount them. They look like they belong there and have been there for years IMO.

If it looks good to you, that's all that matters. Nothing wrong with working with what we've got at the time. And you made something you had work.....
Good job

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
