Okay so here is another opinion needed on decals. I have decided against my better judgement to paint my 149 .On the hood is a dealer sticker the has been there since it was sold. This is original paint. This dealer has been out of business since 1974. My question is, should I mask it off and leave it when I shoot it, or just ignore it. Too late too turn back now.

If it is important, have new ones made.

Good thoughts guys .I'll take the hood to a sign maker and see what they can do. I like to preserve all the nostalgia i can.

Might also ask your local computer know-it-all.
With digital pic, computer enhancement and modern desk top printers, someone might be able to duplicate it rather easily with the right material in their printer. |

Not to hijack this, but is anyone reproducing the standard IH dealer decal? I think it would be pretty easy to do and just fill in the dealer info.

Maplehunter reproduces the dealer decal and sells them as a set of 3, I had them make me some for my dad's old dealership, they turned out really nice.

I would mask it off. IMO a repop would create a loss of nostalgia.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
