Yeah I've seen them before. Lower priced lawn tractor made in 1976, hence the vertical shaft engine. Neat, but not as desirable as a garden tractor IMO.

Good little tractor, and rare as Roland said.
Not that it looks fake, but if you're buying, check the tag on it to make sure it's the real deal.
Keep us informed if you buy it

Hard to say from poor quality pics, but if that's original I hope it gets into the right hands. Looks like a real survivor, be a shame to see it "restored" or even worse painted yellow and green!

It has the white seat and steering wheel. I believe both of those parts are correct for the SO 76. Doesn't the serial # tag say 76 for the model if it's a true spirit of 76?

That gal perched on that tractor shown does not look like she is going to cut much grass.
Yeah, I would probably grab that one just because.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
