Wiring ?
hello all. I just got a chance to look over my newly acquired 149...someone has the wiring all messed up. I have the schematic and am ready to go. my question is this, what size wire to use. I split open the harness and the oem ire looks about 14 gauge or so ???? anyone know the correct size? thanks chris

I want to say 14awg and 10awg for pos battery lead and ground.

Do yourself a favor, if it's "all messed up" get hold of our fellow member Mike Lamar (not sure on the spelling) he makes an excellent replacement harness. And very reasonably priced

I bought Mike's harness for my 122, fit perfectly. My dad's 382 I just replaced corroded wires with 14awg and used 10awg for new BAT leads.

I too got one of those harness's and it was very well made. Each wire was not only correct length but was labeled so even a dummy like me could install it. Yes 6 ga for battery and ground is a little overkill but my son works at a gas cylinder and welding shop and the smallest wire he could get was 4 ga so we used it so I guess we were over over kill.

Jacobson GT 10 with mower. DR Lawn vac tow behind,Home made lawn roller. Brinly cart, 2 off brand carts and 1 home made cart.

Another vote for Mike's wiring harness. It was extremely easy to install as everything is marked/labeled. Plus it's done with great craftsmanship.
