Hi all,
Does anybody know the weight of a QA42 snow thrower. I scanned the manual but did not see the weight listed.

Without weighing one, I'd say in the neighborhood of 130-150#. That's close. Without a pretty large scale, it's a tough thing to weigh.....

You think it weighs less than a tiller with one extension? The manual says a tiller with one extension is 200lbs. I don't have a tiller but I would think the QA42 would weigh more?

200# sounds heavy for a tiller. I honestly didn't think they weighed that much.

I would have said a blower would weigh more, but I just don't know. They are very comparable is size and weight.

This is a screen shot from the manual. It does say shipping weight.

That is what I remember seeing, but I do not recall if that was for a 36 or 42....I think the 36 is 165# and the 42 is 185#. I should know, I have moved enough of both of them by hand. Those are what I seem to recall and if not, then those are my best guesses.

EDIT: The 42 really feels more like 225#!

The only reason I asked is every time one of my neighbors see my Cub they say “WOW! that thing is great! How much does that thing weigh.” And I say A LOT! Because moving this snow thrower around by hand sucks! LOL

Thanks for the information.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
