I bought this one for my 147.

http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/stor...-cranking-amps

Good price & highest cranking amps I could find in the size that would fit in my battery tray. I'd buy another one if I needed one.

Uh oh. Battery thread. Everyone has their favorite battery brands although most are made by the same company. I would just make sure you can get the highest CC amps and correct post layout for your wide frame. I personally use walmart battery's for the convenience and how many are close but have used TSC batteries too, I think the highest CCA that will fit is 300 but I could be wrong

Best advice right there!

Super Start makes a 350CCA L/G battery.

I use DieHard Gold batteries, 340 CCA, you can get them for about $35 when on sale and come with a 3 year free replacement warranty, provided Sears remains in business that long. I saw Sam's Club now also sells a Duracell lawn and garden battery which looks very similar to the DieHard and it's about $35 edlp, probably same manufacturer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
