NOS Filters
I found some of these at a case IH dealer during one of my trips. My question is not knowing the age of these filters would they be ok ? Do they have a shelf life?
I don't want little fibers to fill up my hydro but they would take a good picture on a restored cub. Thanks Terry

Knowing my luck when it's tight the IH logo will be straight sideways.
Still had old pricing too, 7.99 each. Probably the only guy in there that was excited to see a layer of dust on a box when the guy brought them out.

I wouldn't use them . Not necessarily because of age , but because they don't make them anymore! I'd put them up on display like any IH memorbila. Cool find! Some collectors will pay good money for original IH stuff.

i also wouldnt use them and just put them on display but if you want to use them the only thing i could think might be a problem is if the rubber seal is dry rotted or the filter material drew moisture sitting around so long.

Alright you talked me out of using them. Better paint some napa ones yellow while I'm painting the rest of the parts. My paint guy will think im crazy. Probably am. I was really looking for IH bolts when I thought to ask for those filters. Sorry I'm rambling on. I love looking for NOS stuff though.

I think somebody makes decals or sleeves that slip over the fuel and oils filters on IH tractors , they may do the same for smaller ones if your wanting an original look.

I wouldn't use them just because of the "cool" factor of setting them up on a shelf for display. I bet Lew has one or ten of those in his stash........

now, ive used a NOS oil filter on my 49 gravely, but it is a sealed filter, so no rubber like warned against above. just lines to screw in. i agree, unless its a restored piece like mine, and will probably never be changed again, use a comparable filter. could be better tech now anyhow.
i know its not a cub fellas, so forgive me. the filter is seen in blue.
