Long story short; I have 2 782's which means I have 2 single stick hydraulic valves. My question is how hard would it be to add the second single stick somewhere on the machine to make it a dual stick? I wouldn't necessarily need it in the dash, just...somewhere. How would I do the plumbing on such a project?

I know it was an option but it's also a pricey option. I don't see those dual stick control valves go for cheap. I figured I've got two single sticks, maybe I can make something work.

If your doing something non-stock, your kind of on your own.
Plumbing wise, you come from the pump to the one in the dash, out of that one and to the other valve. Out of that valve and back to the pump. Problem is, the first valve in the series takes priority. FWIW, the JD control valves work on CC's. They usually sell cheaper. If you wait and look long enough, you can pick up a JD triple stick cheaper than you can get a CC dual stick valve. I got one off ebay (JD triple) for less than $100 earlier this year. Typical ebay price on a JD triple is $150. That's about $100 less than anyone seems to want for a CC dual. |

I have worked on many of the JD 300 series and they all use JIC fittings.

Ryan, if your not in a rush, keep an eye out on clist. I found a guy just over an hr from me that parts JD's. I picked up a 3 spool valve for less than $50 shipped to my door. It needs a set of orings, but they are cheap. If you don't find a local guy, let me know. My guy has a single for sale and double listed as sold; otherwise I'd link his ad.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
