I'm going to put a 4' box blade behind my 2082. It has the factory cat 0 hitch. This tractor will also have my loader on it. Here are some options I have found. Wanted to see what you guys think.
First up is a howse. It is $299 and weighs 119 lbs. ![]() 2nd is a hawkline by behlen. It is $599 and weighs 290 lbs. ![]() 3rd is a tarter. It is $499 and weighs 284 lbs. ![]() 4th is a king kutter. It is $539 and weighs 295 lbs. ![]() I'm leaning torwards the tarter, but if I can't get it locally and have to pay shipping, the hawkline will be the better choice. As I think I can get it locally. |

First one doesn't look like it's built very well.
The other 3 look ok. When using a box blade, you want one with a backfill blade (#2 and #4 have that for sure). You also want good scarifier shanks. 2,3,4 have good looking shanks. Your choice. FWIW, the tractor will limit you more than the blade will. But the first one is a definite no for me. |

I vote #3. Looks well built. Has 4 rippers. more expensive, but it looks like it would last a long time. my

"Double-sided blade allows for grading in both directions." From the ruralking website about the tarter box blade. The tarter and the hawkline almost look identical.

I'd go with the largest one the 2082 can handle.

I built a "twin" of the Howse, it is PLENTY for a SGT!!
![]() ![]() We gotta be realistic as to what a SGT can do. ![]() |

I know you've had a couple supers CAD, do you think the 2082 will have an issue with the 290 lb box blade. It will have loaded rear tires and a loader up front. Brent |

Brent, did you look at the one that Aaron at extrememotorworks makes? He builds them and uses one he made just for the SGT.
![]() I do, however notice that his doesn't have the rear "backfill" blade. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
