![]() ![]() Ok I got this from Patton Acres yesterday and either I'm not awake or something isn't quite right here. There is a hole for the hook to go in for the bolt and wing nut on the rear of the battery compartment but the other side of the battery compartment there is nothing for the bent part to fasten to. It catches on the lip of the compartment, but to get the wing nut on I would have to bend the hold down to allow the nut to be put on. Seems to me there should have been a hole for it to slip up into to work properly. I haven't had coffe yet so don't laugh!

I usually grind down the "hook" end to fit better. I guess it's made for various battery sizes?

That is what I was thinking because it doesn't seem right to have to bend it to fit! So that bent end just hooks under that lip?

I looked at this last nite and it is a difference in the height of the battery. And as near as I can tell i would have to cut off all but just a smidge of the end...this isn't cool. All it needs to work is a place for that end to go into...i was thinking about grinding a flat on a washer and tacking it in place for the end of the hold down.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
