46" deck for supers?
My dad mentioned he might be interested in a 2072 that I told him about. It has a 60" deck on it now, but he would want a 46". I'll buy the 60" from him or buy a 46" and trade with him.
My questions are: Are the 46" decks very hard to find in good or at least rebuildable shape? If we get a 46", I know we will also need the sub-frame/mule drive, belts. Is there anything else we'll need? Thanks, Geoffrey

I realize that location has a lot to do with it. I was thinking about in the midwest, since we are just a few hours from Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, etc. and do travel in this area during the summer tractor show season.

For the 2072, there were four mower deck options, being: 42", 46", 50" & 60:"
Of the 46", that would be 190-336-100 mower deck with 190-332-100 Mule Drive.

I didn't realize the 42" was an option. He may be interested in either a 42" or 46". I didn't look it up, but I assume the same subframe would work for either one?

Power steering and hyd lift are a wonderful thing to have. He may have a narrow gate to go through. But yea I was wondering the same thing.

I cut for years with no bigger than a 46" on a Cyclops. Then, I discovered the 54" deck and it's smaller cousin, the 48" deck. BOTH of them will allow you to cut tighter radius than the 46" simply because they hang out beyond the wheels.
I do have some ditches to mow and sometimes, the bigger decks are a little awkward when clearance is limited.
