I have a 982 with a B48G Onan blowing oil into the air cleaner. There is 110 lbs. compression on both sides.I took valve breather apart today and the spring to hold the breather closed was out of place, I thought OK, easy fix, I put it back together ran it around for 20 min. no oil in air cleaner. I started to mow and 5 min later, the oil blew into the air filter again. I removed the air filter and the cover so I could keep an eye on things. Driving the tractor around, it does not blow oil out but, if I turn the deck on to load the eng. it only takes a few min. till it starts to blow oil out the breather. What do you think? thank you?

Mcamp, how does the spring, reed and breather filter packing look? If that's all good sounds like crankcase pressure problem. Can you do a leakdown test on it?

I would check crankcase pressure with a water monometer. leakdown tester might tell you what you need to know also

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
