Default 59M Shredder-Grinder
Looking for some help. I just purchased a 59M Chipper-Grinder. It all looks to be in really good shape, but part of the mount is missing. I've got a 2 X 4 replacing it in the pictures. It's parts numbers 6 and 18 in the parts diagram. I've never owned a Chipper-Grinder so all I know about the mount is what I see in the parts lookup. The parts are NLA, but I think part No. 6 would be easy to make if someone can supply me with some dimensions. I'm guessing the springs set on top of the two sections of pipe and don't go down inside them, but I'm not sure. Also I don't know the compressed or uncompressed length of the springs. Any help would really be appreciated. This thing is going to be great when I get it going!!!

I made #6 but intestead of springs I used 3/4 threaded rod and nuts. now I can put more tension on the drum by tightening on the rod and nuts.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm partial to the 70 series Cub Cadets. The 73 in the pictures also has a rear PTO. It's pretty well decked out and gets used a lot.

I really like the idea of the 3/4" bolts, but since I plan to have the 59M off and on a lot, I wonder if that won't become inconvenient. But, that's a great idea, and I may end up doing just that.

Any measurements would still be appreciated. I can make a good guess at the overall length as well as the dimensions of the bar but the closer I can get it to the real thing the better I'll like it. I measured the tubes and I'm guessing the two rounds welded to the bar are 3/4" diameter and probably about 3 inches long?

top bar part is 10' 1/4 long the pegs are 3'' long and 3/4' thick hope this helps
