Default Thinking of switching to the DARK SIDE

Been following a e-bay listing for a few days now & thought of selling all my yellows to make up the price difference. I had my heart saddened when my top bid of $ 1,200.00 was lost & now in the $1,700.00 range. I thought that this was a tractor as a FANTASTIC item & would be the last one I would ever need.

Oh well, I just might find another one?

I EVEN had the wife's approval.

Nik,

Tractor I've been following;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/171331958150...84.m1423.l2648

Wonder what the final price will be?

Wow that's quite the find Nik. Low hours and all original everything, never had a deck mounted? That's an awesome tractor that was used for just snow removal but to each their own. That's the model that I put countless hours on in the late 80s that led me down the yellow fever path too. Whatever it goes for I would say it's worth it but I'm crazy too. I'm thinking 2750? Just a guess. Thanks for sharing, love seeing those.

When you said you were thinking of switching to the dark side, I thought you were talking about Jane Doe green.

Nice 782! I figure it will come in at $2000 or under. Now if that were a 782D.........Look out!

Sorry to hear it won't come home with ya Nik. Would've been a nice tractor.

I posted this one in the ebay section when it was at $100. I said my guess was $2500. There are apparently some collectors that $ is no object. Stinks you didn't get it, but I'm with you $1250 would have been my top bid if I was closer. A few people posted some chit chat that got deleted. They pointed out a few inconsistencies with some of the pics. Still looks like a nice one

Sorry that you can't bring it home Nik.
I am watching that one too, just to see what it brings. Shrewcub, I missed the "chit chat" but I noticed some inconsistencies too. Not really sure what the guy is trying to pull, but some of those pics are of a 782 with front remotes, and some of of a tractor without. May be better that you didn't get it Nik, as it may be a case of false advertising.

The seller addresses the inconsistencies with the photos in the 'questions' section of the auction listing.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
