Default How to determining year of my 2544?

How do you go about determining the year of a GT? The model # is GT 2544 13A-2D7L710. Is there a link you can lead me too?
Thanks, Mike

The date code is usually in the "serial number".

Alrighty.....my Serial number is: 1F175G10073 000002. If this were a car or a set of tires I could solve the date code puzzle. What's the clue to reading the serial?

It was made between 2006 and 2010. It should have a DOM code: date of manufacture, on the tag. I'll keep looking for the date break down.

I appreciate the effort. My owners manual was printed 09/04 but I doubt that means anything in relationship to my tractor. Would the date of manufacture be on the serial tag on the machine itself?

It should be. Also I should admit I was basing my dates from tractordata.com. According to cubcadet.com I am also thinking that they were made prior to 2006. The one category yours falls under is for date k015 and prior which to me is Nov 01, 2005.

Your tractor was built 06/17/05 at the Brownsville, TN plant on assembly line 1 and was the 73rd tractor off the line that day. That's what Oscars book says. I hope that is close enough for you.

Oscar H. Will and I think he has 2 books maybe more on Cub Cadets. I only have the one called "Cub Cadet - The first 45 years". Lots of good info in it.

I'll have to find it. Sounds like the Cub owners Bible.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
