Default Cub 100 Hood

I found a nice straight replacement hood for a 100 I picked up last summer. The 100 had some PO mods. It has a K301 for starters. The old hood was twisted do to a wide frame gas tank being installed and the hood baffle was removed. So the old hood had an extra set of hinge holes drilled in back from the original ones. The replacement hood once installed will not clear the steering wheel by about 1 1/4". I do not see were the frame has been shortened. It appears to be factory. The replacement hood measures 29-1/4" in length.
Serial number on the right side of tractor is 88669 with the casting code 385058R1 below the serial number.
Should be a June-July 1964
Do I have a 100?

Any thoughts?

Looking a little further into the serial number. The model 70 and 100 other than the engine models K161 for the 70. K241 for the 100. Share the same batch of serial numbers 65,458-127,160.
Either way the hood lengths should be the same on a 70 and 100 correct?

You can adjust the front grille frame a little by unbolting it and sliding it forward to help with your hood clearance. I don't own a 100, but that will work for your necessary adjustment.

More than likely your frame is bent at the front where the front grille casting is bolted to. The front grille casting gets pushed back, making the hood seem to long and it hits the steering wheel. BTDT on MANY 70/100's. Take off your front grille casting and straighten the frame.

A few washers under the back mounting holes will help also.
Do you have pics of said hood?

As usual, the guys are correct about the frame being bent.

Shim it up or straighten the frame and your problem will go away.

Took the front grill off and the frame is bent upwards on both sides. Gonna try to straighten out the rails this morning.
Thanks for the input guys.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
