Default Just a feeler, any interest in a 1989 1050?

I just wanted to throw this out there; I've got a 1989 CC 1050. I love the tractor, I really do, it's my first (and only) gear drive. We've been through a lot; first engine pull, new motor mounts, broken gear shifter (thank again John ) and tons more, but I think the time is coming for us to part ways. My question to you guys (mostly in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, etc) is this: is there any interest from you guys for this tractor if I were to sell? It's in overall pretty good shape, not a show queen, but she's earned her keep on more than one occasion. The engine has just started smoking a little when she gets warmed up. I will say this, though; it has proven to be the best starting tractor I've ever owned. This past winter, even down around -50°, shed kept, she'd fire right up every time. Reliable doesn't cover it enough. Anywho, I just wanted to put a feeler out there, I know they didn't make very many of these units, I think I've only ever seen one other one than mine since I've bought it. I wouldn't want to make big bank off of it, just see it go to a good home, maybe someone that'd want to put a bigger engine in it So guys, what do you think? Anyone be interested in this tractor for an OCC price only if I were to sell it? I'll try to get some pics up when I get home.

PS

Mods, if this is in the wrong section or inappropriate, let me know or just take it down. Thanks!

Are you really serious this time? I seem to recall a time I asked you and you said you needed to hold off

Default 1050

Here mine, i think there's 3 of us here that have one. I bought it with a bad clutch and trans. I put a cast trans in with a 16 tooth 2nd gear. It came with a tack that said 350 hrs. I think someone has put a new motor in it. This pic is when i was pulling firewood up the hill in a sled. Mike

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
