Just throwing this out there for opinions. 1st I'm not a purist and most everything I own is a bit personalized. I really like the look of the red supers. But I don't think I should paint a CCC red. So I've been toying with the idea of maybe doing my 1872 in all Cub yellow instead of yellow and white. The white doesn't stay that way long and the local cub dealer has yellow powder coat in stock. I'm not great for keeping up on cosmetics. I just have too many machines to keep track of. Staying on top of the mech stuff is hard enough. So yellow powder coat kind of appeals to me. I kinda like the solid color idea. Probably won't even replace decals just restore the Cub Cadet emblem. Maybe powder coat that and the wheels, grill black. Already have black wheel weights in the rear. I'm going to have to replace the rock shaft soon and pull the axle again for a leak fix. Not much farther to tear it down and drop the appropriate parts off at the powder coaters. This is a working tractor not a show boat.
I've already painting my attachments black just because I have it and think it's more practical for things that are in contact with the ground. Brush on flat black is pretty easy to touch up on wear stuff like the deck and blade, Blower. Besides some of the Haban stuff came that way anyway. So whatcha think? |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
