I have been getting interested in getting a rear lift for my 149 but i have some questions. If I have it on will it go up and down when I raise and lower my plow? Do they attach together somehow? Or would i have to take it off when plowing snow? How much weight can they lift? Thanks, Mark

It will go up and down with the plow but, there's no need to take it off. They can lift around 350 lbs. Maybe more.

Yes, the front and rear will lift together..... When you raise your "plow" are you referring to the front mounted BLADE? No, unless you have an implement on the rear such as a plow, tiller, or something else you wouldn't have to take anything off. If you have an implement mounted, then yes you would. How much will it lift? What are you wanting to lift? It will pick up all attachments made for the cub cadet, and a few more...... ![]() |

Sorry about the confusion. I did mean the front blade. I was just curious about the lifting capacity because I was thinking about adding a weight box. Thanks,Mark

Add weight to the tires. Either wheel weights or fluid. Don't hang it off the rear lift. No reason in the machine having to lift all that extra weight. Weight of the blade and weight on the rear is just asking for something to fail.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
