It was 15 degrees at my house in Ft. Worth this morning and then we started getting a light snow. It probably didn't accumulate more than an inch or so, but who cares? The official high of 24 degrees was a record low high temperature for this date. It is Ft. Worth Stock Show time and we always get some bad weather for that. They are forecasting ice tomorrow morning so I just had to fire up the 149 and remove what was on my driveway and those of my neighbors plus the hill that we live on had slick spots that needed my attention. The Cub still has 30 weight oil in it and has been sitting under a tarp in the backyard, but it finally started and the fun began!

Jim
Looks like you had fun. I also had fun, no snow to deal with, think my Cubs are allergic to snow. ![]()

Your situation might be like mine, I have to get up early and plow the snow before it all melts.

Looks like a really nice 149 lead the charge once again against the elements! Just funny to see someone in Texas all bundled up like that, as that is not my typical perception of a Texan to be in a winter coat.

Yes, I played with 8N's and NAA/Jubilees's for several years after 30 years of Model A Fords. Still have one 8N and some Cushman motorscooters waiting to be restored too.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
