Default What size bolts mount the engine to the cradle in a Quietline?

I recently, and haven't the foggiest idea how, stripped out a mounting bolt that goes into the oil pan of my 1450. I'm wondering if it was already stripped because I didn't get a chance to put any pressure on tightening it before it just started spinning. Anyway, I've got to re-thread the hole, possibly put a helio-coil or steel insert in it, and I need to know what size would be best so I can order a kit. Any idea what size the bolt is or what size kit to order? Thanks!

I just did this to my project tractor the other day. I was using 3/8-16 x 1-1/4 grade 5. I bought this engine from someone else (who assured me the mounting holes in the aluminum oil pan were good) and stripped out the threads in two of the four holes without over torquing the bolts. I bought a cast iron pan off ebay for $40 and replaced the pan. I was going to look at a heli-coil repair, and may do that if I ever need that pan again. I think I'd go ahead and do all four holes. You want to continue to use the 3/8-16 bolts to hold the engine when you're done.

I stripped out 3 of the 4 holes in one of my Aluminum pans.I had nothing to lose so I put it on the drill press and went 7/16 with it. I used a piece of tape as a depth guide. Then I used a Bottoming tap and went NF thread. I used a 3/8 impact to tighten the bolts, lock washers, 3 years later its still tight

That's a great solution, and another way to go. Easier than the helicoil, too.

Not sure of the bolt size and length, however, when I did the cradle mod on my 1650, while I had the engine pulled, I swapped the aluminum oil pan with a cast iron one. Our sponsors would have these. A worthwhile investment IMHO.

Sorry for my delay in responding, guys but thanks for all the suggestions! I believe I am going to go with the re-thread route, but want to make sure that I am ordering the right kit. It seems as though this would be the kit I need for the project, correct? It states that it is to re-thread a 3/8 - 16 hole, if I'm reading it right

Yes that is correct. But a local parts store should have that. Shouldn't be any need to order it online. Or was that just for reference.
