Default My 122
I bought my 122 to plow my driveway but since my shoulder is bad I needed to add hydraulics. So I started to take some things apart to put on the pump on. Then I decided I might as well clean it up and paint it. Now for my questions. Do I need to put the lift "helper spring" back on it since I'm running hydro now? Also which is better, paint or powder coat?

Powder coat is supposed to be tougher I hear. You would have to have a big oven to bake it on though.

Powder coating is a very tough coating but you will have to sandblast or at least strip everything to bare metal.
The bad thing is that if it does get chipped, it makes it even easier for the chip to get bigger and bigger.
You also have to retap all threads afterwards to get the powdercoat out of the threads.
There is good and bad to both paint and powder coating.

You won't need the spring assist, since you have the hydraulic lift.

Looking good. Boy, if you bought it to plow snow and it's in that many pieces, hopefully you have a backup cub. A great excuse to find a second or fifth cub.

I dropped off all the sheet metal to have it sandblasted, I used stripper to clean the frame. It is now in primer.
