I made a couple of non float lift straps for my tractor. I wanted to see if the electric lift I have could raise the back of the tractor off the ground.
After trying the handle keeps moving but the weight doesn't come off the tractor. It seems as if there is some slip or float built into something to not allow it. Any ideas?

One the ones I have ben into, there is a pivot point on the linkage that needs to be bolted/pinned to take out the float. which model are you putting it on?

Its a 104. Basically I am using a actuator to move the lift lever. Everything else is factory. So does this pin go somewhere up by the rockshaft?

I do not know for sure about the 104, but it does go in the linkage attached to the rockshaft on the right side of the tractor. be careful about leaving it locked though, there is another thread on here right now where Sam Mac just posted abotu the fun of replacing broken spirol pins. you are generally better off to add weight to your impliment instead of using down pressure, since down pressure removes weight from the rear wheels. although it would make it nice for adding/removing chains

That's exactly why I wanted to be able to do it. Just for tire changes.

I think you are trying to lift too much weight with the actuator.
There is no float on a cub 3 point for a nf,on a hydro or elift there is, and only on the lift straps that are on a brinly adapter. The only other thing keeping it from lifting is a sheared pin or your rockshaft or it is twisting due to wear from the mule drive fork wearing away the rockshaft

I use a jack to change tires..... its a lot safer than hoping a 3/16" roll pin will hold.

Yeah. I know. I just wanted to know if it could do it. I'll take a video of what happens.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
