I've gotten every kink worked out of my 104 but this one.
When cold I'll set the throttle a little over idle. Choke it crank it and it fires up and runs for 5 seconds or so. It then sputters and dies. That'll happen 2-3 times then it will run. Also when revving it up when cold it will sometimes die or have a very delayed response. My guess is the carb. I haven't been able to determine what screw does what on my walbro carb. Is the lower screw hi speed or low speed?

if its the one on an angle that's the idle. adjust that out to richen it, that should help with your problem.

I'll give it a shot. Just to be clear it runs fine after I get it going and it will Idle decent once it's going

engine fuel needs change as it starts to heat up, you could actually be slightly lean when you are at operating temp at idle. when you tune a carb there's give and take there . just because the engine runs don't mean the carb is set correct. you would be surprised to see an engine on a dyno run with exhaust temps at 1500 deg vs 1300 deg, it runs & sounds good both ways but numbers will make you a believer
