Default Hydro foot control..???

I got a CC 125. My left foot works the brakes. My left hand operates the forward and reverse hydro. My right hand operates the steering wheel. My right foot does absolutely nothing. It'll be nice to get that right foot busy to operate the hydro forward and reverse like many of todays tractors operate and my left hand can hold a nice cold bottle of beer. Doable?

Yep it's doable. Do a search for "foot control" and you will find threads where it has been done before.

I'm sure it's do-able ....... but I didn't find anything when I searched. I've often thought about doing it, but for the gain, it's not worth the work IMHO.

I've driven an automatic machine with foot control. I didn't have anything for my hands to do, and my foot got sore holding the pedal down.

I really like the foot control on my LTX1050. I like it well enough that I'm converting my 782. If I can get it to work right I'll post pictures.

About half way down the page there is a diagram showing one way to do it. Don't think it shows a return to neutral setup which is a mandatory safety feature in my mind.

Jonathan, you are probably right, not worth the work, but I like to mess around with things.

Default Thanks to all

OK, I done some search for the foot control and come up with a few ideas to convert the CC 125. I'm gonna try make the foot control two separate pedals (one cancels the other out and vice versa) rather than a swivel pedal. This is probably a winter project as the grass is still growing. Thanks to all who provided input.

Billy O - Did you ever go ahead with your two-pedal idea? I'm asking because I think that's how I'd want to do it, too. I guess we could use Cub Cadet's design for the new tractors as a guide?

There are a few guys on here who have done it.

Simpler to make a single pedal control. If you feel you need it, have at. Start a thread so we can all watch. It's not terribly difficult, but to do it well, it's involved because the hydro is set up for hand operation. I'd rather move the hand lever on the dash to the fender and incorporate the lift with a button switch on the handle. Replace the manual valve with an electric one and put all operations in the handle. One hand to steer, and the other to do everything else. Only time that you really need a free hand is working with the front blade. (Or rear blade.) Otherwise, the hand operated hydro is fine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
