Default 16 HP Engine Mounting Bolts

I haven't posted here for a while. I've been occupied elsewhere for a while.

Anyway, I found that one of the engine mounting bolts on the 1650 is missing. However, I can't seem to find the specs on the bolts either on PartsTree or in the manual. It seems like these would be easy to find somewhere. I looked around on the forum and founds lots about engine mounting bolts, but nothing that helps me find the specs (or part number). At this point I'm feeling both frustrated and somewhat stupid.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'd just take one of the others out and measure it.

I am thinking it is a 3/8 thread about 1 1/2" long.

I was going to do that, but I have no way of knowing whether the bolt that I remove is the correct grade. However, if all else fails, that is what I will do.

The proper bolts have to be specified somewhere, though.

Thanks

If you are talking about the bolts that screw into the pan just about anything is strong enough. Buy some grade 8 bolts and the bolt will be the last thing to fail.

I use grade 5 bolts. Length is about 1-1/2 inches 3/8-16 thread.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
