I am assuming by "other" you mean other brand. Does the motor on it turn backwards? Most all small engines turn clockwise as viewed from the read of the motor. Larger engines turn the other way. I really don't know why this is, or where the breaking point for rotation is. Never saw a kohler that ran CCW. This is why on the diesel cub cadets, the motor is in backwards. It ran the opposite direction of its gasoline fired counterparts.

Think you are wrong about the Bota's turning backwards. The PTO end is in the front of the tractor as are the Kohler's and Vanguards. They are all driving the tractor from the blower end or in the case of the Bota the water pump end. The PTO end is doing the work of running the attachments.

Most of the AC's discharged to the left as did the Colt/Case GT's because they drove the pto off the flywheel end.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
