Mower deck not blowing grass out properly
Hey everyone.
I need alittle help. For some reason, my mower deck isnt blowing grass out like it should. it leaves a strip of cut grass which comes out the back center of the deck. I dont know what is going on? I also noticed the thin metal stripping that should be behind the mower blades isnt there. Its almost like there is not suction in the deck. its a 42" mower deck with the old cast iron sides. it came with my cc 125, but i think its from and older mower. Could it be a blade problem? Im stuck! Thanks for your help! Scott

I've got issues with the same deck blowing a ton of grass out the front

I would be willing to bet if the baffle was on the deck it would mow a little better. Maybe a set of gator or high lift blades would also be beneficial. The baffle is a must have if the deck is to work correctly.

I think my problem is the blades are just plain wore out. I didn'twant to put amy money Into it before I knew it worked so I just sharpened them the best I could and went with it. My baffles are all intact.
Op you can make new baffles pretty easy and weld them in

Not sure why it's not cutting, but every 48" deck I've ever used in my life has left grass behind the tractor between the wheels. None of the decks has had baffles, just how they are, and it never bothered me.

My 100 has a 42" cast iron deck with no baffles (they have been broken off over the years, now nothing). It mows well, throws all grass out the chute, with nothing left behind. Something else may be the problem - old blades or not the correct blades, wrong blade speed, mowing too low, etc.
