different paint jobs
Just looking to see some different paint jobs to give people a better idea. Post pics of your tractor(s) that you painted and give a brief descriptionof the stepsyou took and the process of painting and what type of paint you used

I have been tinkering around with a 72 for some time now. I enjoy it very much and has cost me a small fortune. I'm not some one who starts a tractor project and quits, though I wanted to a time or so. I take what I enjoy having and working on very seriously but I know that there are many great restore abroad.
Basically, a general clean up, primer and paint is about it. Of course don't forget to upgrade the tractor along the way. After going through all the work, I decided to paint the steering wheel yellow. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures at the moment. ~ off topic~ Big, super storm moving in at the present time. With quite the lightning display starting, I think I'll close up shop. Coming from Indiana moving east toward Pittsburg PA, lots of fun tonight-batten down the hatches guys and hold on.

I took this O apart and used an electrolysis tank to take the parts down to bare metal. I used Rustoleum primer and Majic paint in an air gun. School bus yellow and IH white. I just cleaned up the engine and painted it. I did recondition a different head for it and cleaned out the carbon, rebuilt the carb, lapped the valves, replaced the points and plug, and changed oil while it was off. The rear got new hy-tran and seals. The O's use wheel bushings rather than bearings so they were worn and got replaced all around. It got new tires as well. 10.5 rears are oversized. They can't have chains because of clearance with the fenders. Still needing lights wired in, Grote lens, decals, and a bit of tweaking.

Took a beater 71, sandblasted it with a sandblaster that attaches to my pressure washer. Primed it with Wal-Mart Rustolium rusty metal primer. Painted the red with TCS Magic IH Red. On the hood I used Wal-Mart Rustolium Hi-Build primer and some Bondo spot putty. Black strip is Wal-Mart Rustolium Gloss Black, Red is TSC Magic IH Red. All Rattle can.

Started with a 149 I got from my brother. He wanted to keep the engine so in went a K301 12hp I had essentially making this a 129 with hydraulic lift. I tore it completely down and stripped and sandblasted every part except for the frame and rearend. I decided I wanted to paint it like a 66 series tractor since these series of Cubs look similar and were built at the same time. Every piece was primed and painted with Majic brand paint from TSC; IH red and IH white, with hardener. Some of the small pieces were shot with Rustoleum black rattle cans. The rear wheels were painted with Rustoleum silver wheel paint.
