mowing deck and mule drive/undercarriage
Okay, so I was speaking to a gentleman about buying a 44" deck and mule/undercarriage for my 1450. I told him I needed one in good shape with no holes etc.. so it could be repainted and such. He shot me a price and I verbally accepted over the phone. Grrr. I got there and realized it is a 44C and not a 44A. I still purchased as I had already given my word on it. So, the ? lies there. What do I need to do to get this deck to work correctly. What are my options here. change PTO pulley, change deck and mule pulleys? what are the simplest and least expensive ways to accomplish this. Maybe, lol, there is someone close who needs a 44C and I can swap for their 44A....wishful thinking

Simply change the deck double center pulley to one from a 44A, that's it.

I am currently running a 44c on my 108. I am actually using a carriage with the wide forks like a 44a would have. I went ahead and stuck a belt (3/8") on it last summer to make sure it was going to work. I have had no problems with it since. The belt has held up well. The correct thing to do would be swap the pulley so the belt matches the groove, but you may just try it and see if you like it.
