Default Ebay

I was just wondering why it seems most people on here don't like ebay. Or at least that's the feeling I get. Everyone has there own nickname for the site instead of actually calling it EBAY. I got on ebay when it first came out, I was around 14-16 years of age (something like that,) and I've been a fan ever since. Nothing but good things to say about it. IMO. You can almost find anything you need at a good price. It has changed much since it first came out, but I'm still a big fan.

So, let's hear what you guys think.

Brent

I have seen the same observations about eBay.

I have not had a bad experience with Ebay nor PayPal. I am speaking as a "buyer".

I suspect the negative comes from being a Seller. Constant changes, fees, and people who bid and don't pay, make for a stressful situation.

I've used Ebay for years, and have had no problems.

I use Ebay a LOT!! I have bought and sold without ever having a problem. If you can't find something...chances are there is one on Ebay.

The thing I don't like about e-bay and cub cadet tractors/parts is there are too many people who list on this wold wide site, but won't ship. If you don't want to ship it.... put it in a newspaper or craigslist. Also, people saw something go one time for an outrageous price, so they put that price (or close to it) as a starting bid or a buy it now. Its only worth what people are willing to pay. If you can't get rid of it, or don't know how.... it may not be worth what your asking. E-bay is an auction site. Let it be auctioned, the people will pay what they want. I have no problems with a reserve. If you think its worth X-amount... put a reserve on it. If you try 2-3 times with the reserve and now one will pay that much, it's probably not worth it....

Here is case in point:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/110887847095...84.m1438.l2649

This has been on E-bay since sometime late last summer/ early fall... TOO HIGH!! Take a hint!! 21 offers!

Otherwise, yes sometimes you find a good deal. Or even hard to find stuff. I use it all the time. Just get frustrated with it.

Here are my thoughts, all IMO.

Buy it now sales are often too high.

Auctions start cheap/reasonable, but often last a week. You jump on an auction early in the week, be the only bidder for 5 3/4 days, seemingly like you are the only one interested, then BAM someone comes along (a troller) that bids you way up. You either 1) lose the buy or 2) buy it for waaaay more than you wanted to pay.

I'd rather buy from an independent seller directly (sponsors listed above) or jump on a forum like this one and buy from someone that has one for often cheaper. Generally forum members are more honest, ship quicker and package better.

Those are just the experiences I've had. For me Forum>ebay.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
