Default 104's are home
Met up with Masmith, and picked up the 104's today. They will make nice tractors with a little work and cleaning. Not doing nut-bolt restorations by any means as I'll be using them. They were bought together when new. It's neat that they're still together after all these years. Built, sold, and still residing in the Bluegrass state. I've already got the one with the replacement engine running. Just need to make a couple adjustments to the clutch/brake, and the front p.t.o. The other I haven't had time to do anything to yet, but it's also complete and hopefully won't need a whole lot. Here are a few pictures of how they sit at the moment, along with their new friend (Father-in-law's 100).

The front pto on the one I have running does not engage when the lever is moved forward. I've tried adjusting the linkage but I noticed if i shorten it enough, it tries to engage when the lever is pulled back, which seems backwards to me? Still new to these machines so I appreciate any tips anyone has to offer. Thanks!

You'll have to rebuild the pto. It's to worn to engage.

It was working, but needed adjustment. Tried that, then it completely quit working. I downloaded the techincal manual for the tractor. It looks to be quite the undertaking for a novice Cub owner, but I'll give it a go. If all else fails I can take the one off the other 104 and try it.

PTO rebuilding is easy, well at least the mechanical ones are. I've never tried one made any later than one of those. I really like the look of that series with rear ags. Nice looking 104s.
