Default k341 refuses to start

The 1650 I just got plain down right refuses to start I replaced the coil condensor and points with known good ones and it attempted to run for about 2 seconds then died . I then rebuilt the adjustable walbro 34 on it and it will do absolutely nothing but crank now. I even put a little fuel down the spark plug hole to see if it was just a delivery problem but still nothing. Nice bright blue spark at the points as well as the plug. Any idea guys I've been at this for 3 hours now and its really tickin me off. And now I needs rebuild or get a New starter for it I'm affraid I toasted it

I forgot to add I pulled the head also to make sure both valves were moving and they are as they should. I know it has compression because I had to put the spring back on the acr when I.first got it it had slipped off.

So there's only three things these engines need to run: fuel, air and spark. Here's my trouble shooting sequence (some of which I am sure you've already completed, but repeated here for completeness)
1. Fuel. Make sure you have clean fuel in tank. Pull hose off carb to be sure fuel is flowing that far.
2. loosen screw at bottom of fuel bowl to be sure fuel is making it into the carb bowl.
3. Crank engine (choked) and verify fuel in carb venturi
With these, you've mostly eliminated fuel issues.

4. Air. Do you have compression? is there resistance to turning the engine over? Do you feel the cylinder "sucking" air through the carb? Can you feel air being expelled through the exhaust? If so, you should be good.

5. Spark. This is where most problems occur. Is the engine timed properly? Does the spark occur at the right time in the combustion cycle? If not, it won't fire, even with a good spark. Follow the static timing procedures posted on this forum. Check the plug for good spark. Properly gapped plug, good plug wire, condenser, coil, points. That's it.

Good fuel, air, good spark (at the right time) and it'll run.

I would add to the above. According to Kohler, you need a minimum of 50# of compression in the cylinder to have proper ignition.

I'll check the compression later tonight and the static timing but what gets me is the po was using it.to push snow.then he shut it.off.so he could.go.warm up when he tried.to.restat it wouldn't go

Well I did what I could of a.compression test with the bad starter and it seemed to be good from what I could get ill know more when I can get the starter situation figured out. Will a 12 horse starter work on the 16? This is just messing with my head this is the first engine I've ever had that I couldn't get going I'm just lost

No, you are always going to see a small spark @ breaker points.
It is the nature of electricity.

Well guys I did the static timing with Tue multimeter along with a brand spankin New spark plug andhe.fired right up. Still not running quite right at anything above idle but it is a.good sign so this just might be a keeper I was almost to the point of tearing it down and parting it out. The starter had just barely enough left in it to kick it over good enough that one time so now I will have to wait till I get whole of a new one to get it fine tuned in perfectly . Thanks for the suggestions guys illll start a new thread for pics and the putting back together of it. The po took all the factory muffler stuff off to run a stack but I got all the parts except the nipple that goes in the block

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
