I would recommend new mounts from your cub cadet dealer.
There has been lengthy discussion on this and though they are pricey you will be happy in the end with them. My 0.02!

I have to second that, even thought I'm quite the thrifty person.
If you go aftermarket rubber, you might not like added vibration that they present.

I agree with the others. Get them from Cub Cadet, and you'll be happy with the results.

One thing you can do to save yourself some $$'s is check to see if your top ISO mounts are un-damaged. If so, you can re-use them on the bottom and in doing so - not have to buy a set of 8.

Also, be sure to do the cradle mod too.

Good luck,
Bill

The tops are not designed to be placed on the bottom. I would replace tops and bottoms and in the next 10-20 years not have to worry about them again.

I bought a set for my 1650 from ccspecialties. Cost $80 for the four mounts but I'm told it will be worth it.

Are you sure about this? I've been advised they are identical and the ones I took off my 1650 were identical. Also, the tractor came with a spare (used) set of isolators and that set are identical too.

The reason you can reuse the top ones is that the bottom isolators are the ones that get crushed badly. Many times the top ones are unhurt and can be reused.

Also, don't forget the two snubbers at the front of the engine mounts. Mine were crushed as bad as the 4 bottom isolators.

Just asking.

Thanks!
Bill

Bill,

I am just going to guess here, but I am going to guess that the ISO mounts to which you refer are not the Cub Cadet OEM mount that is currently being produced. The current OEM ISO mount has no interchangeable parts. The bottom mount and top mount are completely different and cannot be inverted.

I am told that the current OEM mount kit is a vast improvement over previous models. My guess is that you are referring to either non-OEM stock or very old OEM stock.

Perhaps someone has a copy of the assembly instructions for the current OEM ISO mount kit that could be posted here.

I agree, the current CC/IH OEM mounts are not interchangeable, the two parts (top and bottom) are completely different and would not interchange properly. I suppose you could do it, but it would be a kludge and maybe worse.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
