Can you help me ID this cub?
A guy wants to trade me this Cub for a go cart I have. I am going to do it, I know him and he said the tractor ran until he got a gas leak in the tank. That isn't an issue. What is is the tractor is labeled a 147 yet it has a stick transmission. Were there 147's built with 3 speeds? If not can you help me ID it by the photo? (I don't have access to the serial # yet, but will in a few days). Thanks, Jason

It looks like a frankencub! The frame suggests it's a 147 due to the cut outs where the engine flywheel is (and larger 14HP flywheel engine) and I'm guessing a PO (previous owner) had a problem at one time with they hydro transmission and put in a gear drive.

Its hard to tell, but I would say it is a 1x6 series... either a 106 or 126 depending on the size of the engine. Looks like someone swapped the decals/hood & dash at some point. And no 147 were strictly hydrostatics.

Ok, So hypothetically, if someone did change the rear end out, it "SHOULD" work the same as far as mower etc goes. Just the clutch and rear is swapped possibly?

That is a 147 since it has the notched frame and correct hoods and fenders. I agree with drglinski looks like someone just put a gear drive tranny in it.

It's a 147 someone has put a three speed in, the electric lift has also been replaced with a manual lift. A gear drive 14 hp NF sounds cool
