i don't know a whole lot about quietlines, but to me 300 is too much for a non-runner.

As long as it has some compression, spark, and is getting enough fuel it'l make some kinds of noises

I'm sure it will be fairly easy once you take a look at it. $300 is a good price for one in that good of shape.

My guess is that is is something simple to make it run. If you can turn the engine by hand, it should go. You may have to do several things to get it to go, such as completely clean the gas tank and carburetor, change the coil, points and condenser, change the spark plug and plug wire. You may need to check the valves to be sure they aren't stuck and see that the push rod to the points isn't bent. The wire from the coil to the points may be shorted somewhere. Even the ignition switch could be bad.

After you get it to run, be sure to check the ISO mounts, replace as necessary, and do the engine cradle modification.

The 1250 is a nice cruising machine. This one looks nice and well-kept. If you can get it for less, by all means, do so, but I would take a chance on it.

Well I turned it over to a buddie of mine, he is going to go get it this weekend, If it was a three speed I would have gotten it the other day, but it is a nice Cub.

It's a good ballpark price IMO. Deck being included is good as well. Hopefully it's something small and you can fix it up for cheap.

No shame in 300.00 even if it doesn't run. Hope for something small. That baby looks great.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
