Default #2 Tiller

I bought a 1450 that came with deck, snow thrower, and #2 tiller. I have no use for the tiller and will sell it. I have a few questions, I'd appreciate comments on please.

Is there any other uses for the angle drive besides the tiller. For example turned 90 degrees so output faces rear for a PTO?? So maybe I should keep it and just sell the tiller??

All the buyer would get with the angle drive are shown(except I keep #10 & 11) for my deck. All the rest on the rear of the tractor I keep as part of 3 point, and the drawbar. Correct???

I have an offer for the tiller and drive assembly, but think he has low balled me pretty hard at $250.00 for both. Believe I will pass on that offer.

Any comments, advice will be welcomed.

around here i dont think i could get much more than 300 because many potential buyers will need the rear lift setup that you plan to keep and that goes for 100-175 by itself.

Yeah, around here $250 for a tiller would be a deal as well. I got my 1250 w/ a tiller (complete), snow thrower (complete), and mower deck (missing a wheel) for $550. And the only thing wrong with the 1250 so far was a rear axle seal needed to be replaced along with fluids & filters. I'm not sure what else the gear box could be used for, but I'm sure with some imagination it could be used for quite a few things.

Around my area, a nice #2 tiller with good tines would bring $250-300. That would be complete with the angle gear box. That also is how the tiller mounts to the tractor. IMHO, it would be easier to sell with the gear box. Really depends on location and demand. Spring is just around the corner.........

Understood. Up here Cubs aren't as plentiful as in most of US. And, as of now I can find no tillers listed for sale in my province of Ontario. Then again, there probably isn't that many folks looking for one either. The interested fellow will be coming 150 miles one way to get it.

I will sell angle gear and tiller as a unit. I'll never have need for it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
