Default Pushing/Towing

I know I don't post very often, and when I do it's usually with a question. But, that's only because I know I don't have nearly the amount of knowledge that many here do. So, I leave the information giving to the "experts". And, I appreciate all of the help people on the, and other forums give.

With that in mind, I have another question. After a 3 month battle with replacing the cork gasket between my hydro pump and rear end on my 782, I have finally succeeded in removing he pump and replacing the gasket. I have the rear end buttoned back up and will work tomorrow to reunite it with the frame.

1. Right now it's drained of fluid. With that being the case, once I get things back together, can I push the tractor to the shed without fear of damage to the rear or any hydro valves?

2. Also, before I start putting things all back together is there anything else I should do while the tractor is split in half?

3. Should I fill it with cheaper grade fluid at first, run it shortly to check for leaks and what not, then drain and refill with Hytran and put a new filter on? Or, just fill'er up and go?

Sorry for the looooong post and, as always, THANKS for any help that can be offered.

Don't mix the fluids. If you've done the fix correctly, change your filter and fill it with the Hytran.
If you have a leak, (as I had in the past) you'll just have to do it over again,(as I have in the past) Have faith in your workmanship

Okay. Thanks. I guess I will have to trust it.

Any thoughts on whether I can push it around without damaging anything when there's no fluid in it?

Default pushing a cub

this is a question that's been bugging me too. I just pushed my 1450 (full of fluid with hydro released) into the shed, about 20 ft., and some of the things I've read here have me wondering if I could have messed up the hydro unit. But then again reason suggests that there must be a way to move the tractor safely when and if it won't move on it's own. ?????????

hydro release valves. if they are working and released then pushing the tractor where you need it is not a problem. towing it down the road to the neighbors house wouldnt be a good idea though.

I wouldn't think pushing it at a walking speed isn't going to hurt anything. Towing on the other hand is pretty hard to keep at a walking speed.
If there was no moving it at all there wouldn't be valve dumps on them. Somewhere, sometime they just have to be moved by hand.

He said he has no fluid in it. So it will be turning the hyd motor with no oil. Not good for the hydro. If it was full and had been run to fill the hydro it would be OK to push it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
