Why is there no longer a snowthrower manufactured for the 1500 series garden tractor. I find the model 190-032 blower, heavy, cumbersome, and prone to throwing belts.
PS: The non adjutable electric pto is also prone to failure. I guess you get what you pay for with Cub Cadet |

There are Pros and Cons for each, the snowthrower and the snowblower. One will have to decide which one best suits their needs.

I don't think a single stage will work in the snowbelt areas of the Northeast. Also, I dont think there is more than one option available for the 1500 series

I used a thrower for 1 year on a 127. Worked great but if you dont have a cab which I didn't, you'll hate it unless you like snow in your face all the time.
The only good thing with a thrower you can almost put the snow anywhere you want. Meaning throwing it 10 to 15 feet in the yard. A snow plow can only push so far. I'm sure others will chime in. By the way I use my 149/loader and pile the snow up after the storm as long as it doesn't ice up. |

Here in Michigan, snowthrower work just fine, as long as you have the right type of snow.

Y'Day we got somewhat of a wet snow, 6" deep.
The first 100 or so feet, the QA 42 chute clogged and the belt slipped. Then the chute polished a bit, as well as the sheaves and wahoo, game on. Keeping the governor wide open, going as fast as it takes to keep the full 18 Hp used up. She spits 40-50' of snow like a snow cannon. When you get it in that sweet spot, that double breasted kohler sings a sweet tune like none other, and if I have to explain it, yall wouldn't understand, Ha,LOL! |

I think throwers are like tillers. they work best using a hydrostatic drive tractor.
never have had a blower. that too much $$$ for the little bit of snow around here. up untill my thrower broke , the 882 was throwing that soop 20' making all kinds of black smoke. it was sweet. may get another 2 to 4'' tonight.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
